Foxton Locks is an ideal area for a stroll or walk, but if you don’t know the area it may be hard to know where to go, so we’ve compiled this list of long and short walks. Walking can be thirsty and hungry work, so drop into The Foxton Locks Inn along your way to refuel.

Foxton Locks featured in top 10 walks list

Foxton Locks has been featured in a top 10 places to walk in Leicestershire over the Christmas break, for those wanting to get some fresh air. The Leicester Mercury article mentions:

There’s plenty to see, not least the series of 10 locks on the Grand Union Canal.

Anyone wanting to benefit from the views at Foxton Locks can use the walking route outlined upon arrival at the car park. Alternatively the following route is available from The AA which is reviewed as ‘a pleasant walk through the South Leicestershire countryside.’

The walking route finishes at the car park next to The Foxton Locks Inn, so it’s easy to join us for a warming drink or hearty meal as a reward for a brisk winter’s walk.
