Foxton Locks in top 10 places to visit in Leicestershire

Foxton Locks has been listed as one of the top 10 things to see on a visit to Leicestershire by The Express this month.

Coming in at 3rd place beneath the National Space Centre and the opportunity to learn about King Richard III at the new Visitors Centre, Foxton Locks has been rated for having the largest flight of staircase locks on an English canal, with two staircases of five locks.

The locks are surrounded by beautiful countryside and offer you the chance to experience all that the waterways have to offer – narrow boats, the flight of 10 locks and the new Boilerhouse that allows you to learn about how tough it was for people in the 19th century to make a living and survive the harsh conditions of canal life.

Also on the list was the Leicester market, the Great Central Railway and the Curve theatre among others.

If you’re in the area taking in all that Foxton Locks has to offer, why not pop in and join us for a meal or a drink? We’re open all day.
